With a futuristic artistic style that’s typically not seen in architecture, artist Roger Dean set out to create an organically shaped home that was both aesthetically pleasing as well as functional and problem-solving.
With an approach to design based around clusters of spaces that are made to feel almost hidden and womb-like, Dean’s style is very organic and seemingly accidental. However, it’s not the case at all. His Mushroom “Home For Life” takes human’s instinctual habits and thoughts into account and helps the user to feel in control and safe. It’s also eco-friendly, with plenty of in-ground innovation and interesting materials such as spray concrete (starting with some very expensive moulds), steel rods and gunnite.
