BARCELONA’S STRIKING SOLAR ENDESA PAVILION

This interestingly shaped pavilion located in Barcelona, Spain might look like something that was created out of the pure sense of just being different– but there are far more reasons behind the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia’s (IAAC) construction and design process of the Endesa Pavilion.

Each cubic looking ‘module’ on the exterior has its own purpose, mainly for the most possible sun absorption and efficient utilization of solar power for other technical processes. Though the complete wooden facade and interior decor might throw you for a loop, Endesa is quite cutting edge. As of now, it will be used for the “Smart City Expo” but will also be home to meetings and other important talks of topics relevant to its capabilities.
