New Zealand based designer Karin Montgomery Spath has had a long lived career in more than one interior path. From textiles to linens and now home renovations and design– Spath’s resume is a well rounded one and this space doesn’t disappoint. For this couple who originally commissioned Karin to renovate their beautiful 70s home got more than they ever imagined.
While preparing to go through the construction process, Karin suggested a loft apartment could be built above their existing 2 car garage to provide refuge during the lengthy time of updates. The end result? A beautifully peaked crawl space that is decked out in all white with natural touches, plenty of natural light and a whole lot of cozy home comforts. With a total square footage of about 340, quarters are tight but hardly feel cramped or encroached on. The kitchen happens to be one of our favorite spots, with its ingenious small designs and simplistic decor.
