Different cultures call for different home designs, layouts and obviously within those parameters falls the generational gaps when you’ve got multiple generations living under one roof. For one family in Singapore 3 generations share a large, multi-story concrete home that provides everything that each member of the family needs (to an extent).
CHANG Architects created this layout of about 4 varying levels that allows for all of the age groups to have the privacy that they all covet. All of this was accomplished while still maintaining a very central and public area for members of the multi-generational family to interact.
Not only were people involved in the different programming portions, but the tropical climate was also a huge factor. The concrete structure helps the hot and humid climate while absorbing heat and keeping the space cool when need be.
