Brazilians are known for their high energy, great spirits and boldness. It may not always translate into design, but with this retro styled residence in Sao Paulo– it does. The vibrant stylings of this space are a great ode to culture and personal inspiration, with fun pop art styled graphics and understated furnishings with a twist.
Gil Mello created this industrially renovated space with rich wood tones, brick wall accents and plenty of that South American natural light to go around. The exterior is vibrant and red, with a long and narrow facade. This multi-level space offers up a slim sense of wonder and the interior is compartmentalized similar to shipping container style homes.
It is still light and bright within, and there are touches of vibrant paint, lush planted foliage and beautiful art adorning the walls. The upstairs offers up a hidden staircase that takes you up to a rooftop patio for lounging and enjoying the Sao Paulo views.
