Light and open, yet private and obscure. This residence that’s home to the Sri Lankan jungle is all of the above. With the intent to have a home that rests lightly on the ground, but still remain a large enough space for guests, rented area and have separate quarters for the property’s on site assistance.
Narein Perera‘s approach to this residence was to leave the landscape essentially untouched. A steel frame and supports uphold the multi-level timber and bamboo home. There are three bedrooms, all with on suite bathrooms– which gives the owner the leisure to rent it out or entertain guests. All parties staying in the home would have their own privacy while still remaining exposed, in some way, to the jungle treetops and the great outdoors.
