Flagstaff, Arizona is where this multi-unit shipping container home is located and the end result of this student-designer collaboration couldn’t be any more interesting. Crafted completely of six shipping containers for a family to live in, the desert home features cool and clean materials along with large windows for the beautiful view and natural light factor.
Just taking about two years to build, this space showcases a rooftop terrace, industrial finishes and design details (including the red brick colored stair case that sits in the middle of the living area. A light, minty green covers the interior and exterior facade of the residence, while the rest of the home remains relatively neutral.
Concrete floors, glass and walnut woods really help the home to feel more upscale, although their contribution to being green helps much more. Water harvesting, strategically placed windows and doors are all a part of the process with this home and it’s safe to say that nothing on this unique project was overlooked.
