Though this would make for a pretty amazing floor in any space, it’s actually an art installation by artist Nino Sarabutra in Bangkok. The space that’s been adapted for use of the installation is titled “What Will You Leave Behind?” and begs the question for those viewing to take a seat and reflect on their lives.
Sarabutra’s little skulls are crafted from porcelain and there are about 100,000 that make up this room’s surfaces. From flooring to a table top, chair seats and adorned pillows– it’s all been covered. Encouraging a deeper self-reflection, this flooring is a beautiful way to create a covering that’s not your run-of-the-mill hardwood, tile or carpet. These pieces would really make for a perfect texture in an all white room, or an off the wall element to a more traditional space.
