10,000 Plants Adorn London's Giant Living Wall

We all know that having more plants and more trees on our earth helps with the air quality, indoor/outdoor temperatures and health of the population. The Victoria area of London has caught onto the idea, and wanted to cut down on their flooding issues– so they have teamed up with Green Roof Consultancy and The Rubens at the Palace Hotel to create London’s largest living wall.

It’s not the first vertical garden to hit an urban area, but this built in garden houses over 16 tons of soil, 10,000 plants and can store up to 10,000 liters of water fit just to feed the plants. The installation covers one side of the entire building and has some seasonal offerings, including geraniums, buttercups and strawberries.
