There’s nothing that a little R&R won’t fix, and for many– that means getting away to a hotel even if just for the weekend. The Generator line of hostels/hotels has new accommodations in Barcelona, and they are a funky mix of great design and hostel chic. Most hostels of the past aren’t really much on the design end of things, but this space has gorgeous public areas and the accommodations are nice, too.
This 1960s building is freshly renovated, and it serves as both a hostel and hotel. There are rooms that function for both styles of travel and even a couple of rooms with attached rooftop style patios. The rooms are relatively simple, yet they have a rustic vibe about them. The lobby features a hip bar area, and a lounge that’s filled with tons of overhead lanterns. The central area has an installation that also holds suspended seating which mimics the organic lines of the architecture.
