They say that tattoos are addictive. So what if your addiction goes all the way to the architecture and design of your home? We say, go for it! Andrew Maynard Architects of Australia designed this amazing red and white “Tattoo House” that started out as an ultra contemporary gem.
The “tattoo” effect that shows through on the exterior was created by AMA in an effort to soften the rectilinear and super sleek, clean materials of the facade in a neighborhood that typically sees a more refined, classic look. A stencil was applied to the interior windows of this home in order to provide some privacy, and add a unique look to the shell. Beyond just making the home look amazing, the stencil faces the neighbor’s garden– a visual gesture that’s sure to be appreciated.
