You can never truly be prepared for a natural disaster to hit, and if you’re forced to evacuate your home with nowhere to go– it can be a tough thing getting back on your feet. Designers Nic Martoo and Nic Gonsalves of Australia designed an award winning shelter that’s perfect in an emergency.
A perfect cube-like space that sits elevated just a little is easily build-able by oneself, and forms a series of squares on the exterior (allowing for wood, solid and translucent panels). The interior portion of these squares ends up as sequential cubes that are perfect for storing belongings and keeping organized in (what is probably) a chaotic situation. Dowels, pins and faces all work together to create this space and can be fully customized to whatever the user is most comfortable with.
