Imagine a real life Candyland, complete with structures crafted from candies, chocolate and more. Though we’re at the point of 3D printing whatever we need, structures made from gum drops and candy canes are far and few between. William Lamson‘s “Solarium” isn’t quite edible, but it does contain elements crafted from sugar.
The contemporary architecture of this pavilion is comprised of steel, glass, sugar and of course plants (shown). In this work of art, sugar and glass are combined to create an amazing stained glass effect in neutral tones. Utilized as a 10-foot by 8-foot pavilion or green house for citrus plants, the enclosure opens up with hinged panels to allow natural air and unfiltered light in.
