Affectionately titled “House in a Pine Wood,” Sundaymorning Architecture innovators and designers were given the task of renovating an old 60s structure with not a whole lot of variety and interest in materials. Pine trees and dunes surround the Summer home, and its now finished space may not be integral to nature, but the juxtaposition of the two is quite nice.
The palette is simple: travertine and rich woods. The interior staircase is a great focal point for the relatively small space. Creating storage and display cubes out of strategically placed pieces of wood and horizontal strips that run from the treads up to the bookcase styled storage. Each detail is executed with care and intense focus, and though some might argue that this home doesn’t draw enough from nature– the change to the existing space is a beautiful one indeed.
