Gourds are unique in the sense that they are a food, but tend to be used quite often in decorative situations. While a vast majority of the time they are set out on a table during the holidays, or hollowed out for other décor purposes– there are infinite possibilities with these amazing shells.
Artist Przemek Krawczyński of Poland has created “Calabarte” in an effort to share his amazing creative gift with the world. His gourd lamps are all one of a kind, with each taking about 2 months to create from concept to completion. Halogen bulbs are used in each lamp, and the patterns that are cast onto the surrounding objects of these intricate lamps are almost as beautiful as the lamps themselves. Starting at about $2,900, these lamps are no joke; but nevertheless amazing to admire.
