Low Cost Living ‘Freedom Room’ Designed by Inmates

A small space doesn’t always have a “one size fits all” approach– and while some tiny apartments have all of the high end details; others might be on a tight budget and needing to make things work in a small footprint with some less luxurious features and finishes.

The Comodo and Cibic workshop is driven to aide inmates with design training, and in collaboration with one of Italy’s correctional facilities the “Freedom Room” was born. This was of course after a lot of discussion and talks about the necessities of living, multi-functional pieces, adaptability and so much more. For dwellers like prison inmates, the space should accomodate a kitchen, a bedroom, office, entertainment, a closet, sometimes a gym, an often a library.
