There’s always a need for inspiration and a plan of something that will provide shelter in case of an emergency or dire need. The Ekinoid project aims to have a structure that can be built to sustain a family of about 4 in one week. Ideally, these orb shaped residences would multiply into the thousands, creating entire towns of these off-the-grid homes.
Comprised of either a clay structure, or your standard built home with copper shingles attached– these homes are small and direct, with about a 100 year lifespan. After this time, parts and pieces would become recyclable and ready to retire. On the inside, there is a living area with two central floors to include dining, kitchen, bedroom(s), bathrooms, and lounge. A lower level is saved for generator and utility equipment storage. An interesting concept, especially in the day and age of global warming, over population and such.
