Surely small residences are the norm for many, but what about floating homes? Or teepee houses? As an Australian University student, William Woodbridge is one of the few who could attest to all of the above with a home that he built himself– a floating teepee house.
Situated on Lake Ginninderra in Australia, this teepee is a great design that just sits atop a raft in the middle of the water. Though it might seem a bit unorthodox and maybe even a bit unstable, but William has noted that the cone shaped home is solid and there haven’t been any issues with the weather.
While we’re not sure that he is still living in his lake teepee– there was word that he was going to battle a lawsuit before an elder wrote a reprieve that dictated that Woodbridge is “authorised to occupy Lake Ginninderra or any other lake estuary or wetland he may so choose upon to reside as suits his needs in Ngambri Country.” [Via] The teepee is still a great concept.
