This amazing residence was built after the Chilean earthquake hit Concepción in 2010, so a large majority of its great design is based on the reinforced concrete and steel structure that isn’t seen (but rather felt).
Pezo von Ellrichshausen created this amazing four level home that features all around glazing and metal on the facade. One of the stories is actually in the ground to base the rest of the tall and narrow house securely on the hill. Much of the interior is simple and bare, with a huge focus being on the geometry and balance in structural weight for any future disasters that might occur. Simple materials and a simple design all lay out perfectly to create this Arco House.
