A home that’s way up in the frigid Mt. Olympus climate is one that’s got to withstand a whole lot. Imbue Design was the firm behind the master planning of this Salt Lake home that was planned around not only the family’s way of living, but a life without air conditioning.
In planning a home without this common luxury, the orientation on site, window and door placement (not to mention operation) all had to be strategic. Floor to ceiling windows and cross ventilation are a huge part of air circulation in the space, but the plan is also a great part of the successful design. A large open plan, concrete flooring and voluminous ceilings are all an integral part of the space.
