Artist Motoi Yamamoto is an innovator when it comes to his own expertise of art: salt. These salt based art works aren’t your typical large salt pieces, but table salt style granules all sculpted together into one formed installation.
The most recent by Yamamoto is titled “Floating Garden” and was prestigiously presented in the Laband Art Gallery, at Los Angeles’ Loyola Marymount University. It took a total of 11 days to set up the intricate work, with other exhibitions having already passed across the world in areas such as Seoul, France, Japan, and South Carolina. Yamamoto‘s L.A. Floating Garden will be on exhibit until December of this year. On the last day, the public is invited to dismantle the exhibit and throw the salt back into the ocean near Playa Del Rey.
