Asymmetrical Walstrom House by John Lautner

Posted 2 years ago by

Asymmetry isn’t always something that’s welcome with open arms especially when it comes to home design. But back in the late 60s, architect John Lautner had a great idea for the Walstrom House in Santa Monica that is still a timeless piece of architecture today.

The interior and exterior structures are composed entirely of wood, with rich tones taking over every inch that you see. Though the rooms are relatively simple, it is the built in details that are really the stand out pieces within. The large bookcase in the center of the Walstrom is an unforgettable part of this home, as are many of his other homes. Learn more about the influence John had on Los Angeles design, here.
