There’s always something interesting about usable space versus a space that’s created just for show. In Nicolas Baier‘s latest art installation, unveiled just recently at the Place Ville-Marie in Montreal for its 50th anniversary.
The installation itself features classic Eames Aluminum Group chairs surrounding a conference table as well as the remnants of your standard office space. Spectacles, cups, water bottles and various items are strewn about the completely walled off space, partitioned from the public in a completely enclosed glass capsule. Baier’s beautiful representation looks stark and cold without the life and warmth of people milling about and textured materials taking the place of the cold reflective surfaces.
