Netherlands SH House by baksvanwengerden

Amsterdam architects baksvanwengerden completed an addition to the SH House this past June, where they made a dark and dreary existing space into a light and bright contemporary residence. Originally built in 1932, this home just needed to be opened up and refreshed.

The 2260 square foot home is now an open floor plan with space that is utilized vertically all the way up to the pitched roof and down to the ground floor where the public spaces reside. The homes’ stairway is a straight run that grounds the new and improved living room arrangement, and the end result is a beautifully minimal interior with plenty of built-in functionality.
