One look at this fun and funky building, and the last thought would be that it’s a home for the elderly. But MVRDV’s interesting approach to architecture doesn’t limit the older crowd from having some interesting details on their dwellings. There is a lot of glazing on the front facade to create a light and open feel, with colored glass giving a mosaic feel to the premises.
With The Netherlands having a quite large (and growing) population, there has been an inherent need for larger scaled projects. MVRDV created the WoZoCo 100 unit living facility, with 13 of them being cantilevered off the side of the building to match up with the Dutch daylighting codes that are required throughout the country.
