Zaha Hadid may be one of Architecture’s more famed practitioners, and it’s certainly a testament to her innovative works. One of her great buildings is a match made in heaven– between herself and German native BMW. BMW’s Central Building in Germany was built by Zaha from 2001 to 2005, and she claims it as “a more dynamic and more engaging” space.
Moving away from the traditional flow of a blue and white collar spatial division, BMW’s Central Building has a futuristic vibe to it. With concrete and white as the main colors seen, blue lights give the “Tomorrowland” feel to the corporate office space. There are pops of color as far as workstations are concerned, but the majority of the architecture and detailing is centered around movement in the lines and direction of materials.
