If contemporary architecture is something that interests you, Frank Gehry is likely a name you’ve heard or he is attached to a building you’ve lusted after at some point. The man famed for his industrial approach to architecture and undulating forms is taking on a new project with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for Menlo Park’s newest corporate offices.
Gehry Partners has been commissioned to create the complete “campus” design of the 22 acre headquarters and while it’s in its beginning stages– things look to be coming along. The building scope itself will take up 10 of the acres, with the 435,000 square feet of interior space being used for open collaboration and a freestyle “warehouse” style approach to work stations to maximize flexibility.
As of now, construction is set to begin in 2013. Stay tuned for more information as the details become more concrete.
