Katsutoshi Sasaki + Associates designed this triangular ‘Onou’ home in Japan, located in Toyota in Aichi Prefecture. The house may look more unassuming from the front, but the backside opens up to a lesser height and a wider frame. It’s more of a loft style living space, open in nature and unassuming from the outside. But the views and simplicity of the interior are outstanding.
The almost 800 square foot inside area features freestanding ‘doorways’ that are more or less wooden frames in the middle of the public areas. The upper level where the bedroom(s) are located looks down to the first story of the house, with not a whole lot of visual separation between the two.
