This ultra contemporary residence came with the idea in the realm of prefabricated homes and the ability to be picked up and moved to wherever at the drop of a hat. House No. 19 by Stuhlmacher Architects is located in Rotterdam and has the ideals of prefab behind it with the sensibility of modernism on the exterior.
Constructed of simple materials with a steel structure, House No. 19 is a sturdy, heavy, and environmentally sound, structure that can be transported on public roads with its carefully planned dimensions. Once set in place, the home can be completely opened up with a large drawbridge type door and other areas for permitting natural light; and when the time comes– it all closes up nice and compact for another move or to simply protect from the elements.
