Designer combo Ronan + Erwan Bouroullec are known for their large scale installations and creative outlook to simple design dilemmas. When they set up shop for London’s 2011 Design Week, the duo paired up with Kvadrat textiles to create something useful within the art exhibits of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
The concept? An oversized 30 meter long, 8 meter wide installation which takes over the 240 meter square floor of the raphael cartoons gallery. With the intent to be a focus on contemplation, the installation was constructed out of colored foam and textile piece with gentle inclinations to produce a great lounge space for those wanting to explore more of the feelings in the gallery.
