The wilderness can bring out some boring structures, but in the case of this home located in Elkins Springs, Colorado– boring is certainly nowhere near a defining word. Dubbed the “Reed Residence” this house is a timber and steel based contemporary, yet rustic structure.
A space that screams outdoors, but is even eco conscious at the same time. Robert Hawkins and team created this home with its carbon footprint in mind. The family of four that occupies this home wanted to minimize their energy output to go so far as to have the home engineered to be “Net-Zero.” This means it would create all the energy it would consume over the course of a year.
