Cell phone towers can be an unsightly thing, like plenty of today’s technological elements that we all live with. Being as tall and ugly as they are, we depend on them. So in today’s world, telecommunications companies have gotten smart with their placement and cover up of these towers. Turning them into things like cacti, trees, flag poles… anything really that keeps the attention and attraction to a minimum.
Though a lot of these items look like overgrown plants or some sort of hormone induced trick, they are merely a facade to keep people who live and work near these towers from feeling threatened. Since cell phones and their usage have been linked to cancer previously, there is a stigma that comes along with the towers as well. Photographer Robert Voit has made it his work to find and take pictures of the hidden towers, and there are some interestingly convincing trees sprinkled around the country.
