Bali is one of the great destinations in Indonesia, so it’s no surprise that there are more luxury resorts on the rise. The Alila Villas Uluwatu is one of the premiere destinations, not only for the gorgeous setting, but for its amenities and sustainability in the green community. Singapore’s WOHA Designs is responsible for this Balinese gem settled atop a cliff’s plateau of the Bukit Peninsula.
This resort is the first in Bali to receive the highest level of Environmentally Sustainable Design with its Green Globe Certification. One of their most proud features– all materials used to build the resort were locally sourced, a big deal when your country is off the normal beaten path.
The grounds have got some gorgeously defined spaces that don’t always delineate the inside from the out, and may push the boundaries in distinguishing private and public space; but that’s the beauty of this rare and luxurious destination.
