Sleek Stählemühle Distillery and Showroom in Germany

Bars and nightclubs may still be a popular choice of weekend group activities, but there’s always the occasional wine tasting– or even a distillery tour. For example, this old Mill turned distillery in Germany for Stählemühle. Designed by architect Philipp Mainzer, who was on the forefront of the Eigeltingen mill’s restoration.

It’s still an old looking mill from the exterior, but on the inside the facility is official looking. Sleek and modern, with not a whole lot to the inside other than some fancy equipment and a tasting room. All of the materials are natural, with wood tables and benches and clear glass containers for the alcohol. They’re sized differently, and take on different textures, shapes and color depending on what part of the wall they’ve been set against. Simply stunning.
