If boats aren’t really your thing, but living on a river is– there is a gorgeous setting along Germany’s Eilbek Canal that just might get your heart racing. Architecture firm Sprenger von der Lippe has created an visually stunning home along the waterway which is pretty secluded and banked down below street level to have a serene and vacation like feel.
The more private home areas of the 1,500 square foot space are down right on the water, while the more public spaces are designed to be atop the upper level. Definitely a beautiful view no matter which way you spin it. The materials are all pretty industrial, while the warm wood touches are a nice change up from the masculine, stream lined structure.
