Hertl Architekten created the Aichinger House from a building that was once a restaurant in Austria. The exterior features a grey curtain layer that’s tied back in window and door locations, and looks to be attached like a curtain itself.
The privacy inside continues with more sheer draperies and though you might not think it, there is a lot of natural light that extends in through the exterior textures. The rest of the interior furnishings are simple and light, but the exterior portion of the building is what really draws the attention to the home– even from the interior. The pulled back curtain can easily be seen from inside and it’s a pretty and subtle sight from any angle.
