New York like any large metropolitan city has got strict zoning laws and a permitting process to go with it. So once NY’s Mesh Architectures got a hold of this home to be, there was a plan devised to create just what the owner wanted and needed without all of the jumping through hoops.
The existing space just so happened to be a one car, albeit– very large, garage. A 2100 square foot garage space is no joke, and Mesh-arc took the pre-existing one-story garage and transformed it into a dynamic two-story house with a centrally located garden.
The end result of this great use of space is a great private space complete with a catwalk connecting the 2nd floor bedroom, stairs, and even a rear roof deck.
