It may not seem like there’s anything special or exciting about these structures when you first look at them, other than their outstanding design and strong presence along the rivers of Nebraska. But these “River Probes” are more than just structures of beauty.
The 70 square foot towers, or probes, serve a major purpose and their tiny footprint is an astonishing feat in itself. Randy Brown Architects has come up with a solution for monitoring the water that is becoming more and more polluted in the state’s river.
Not only will the body of water be monitored by a scientist and tested through the extravagant systems integrated to the probing portion of the building– but the 70sf towers also provide space as observation decks, living, eating and even sleeping quarters for the scientists hard at work. Simply amazing!
