Utilizing mirrors to make small spaces appear larger than they actually are is a common practice within the design world, but artist Harumi Yukutake had a different idea when he decided to cover a small house in thousands of mirror to help the dwelling blend with the natural surroundings; literally.
Presented during the 2009 Echigo-Tsumari air art festival in Japan, guests could venture along a grass covered path to encounter this enchanting little home. The home, which was dubbed ‘Restructure’, was covered in thousands of mirrors, all of which have been cut by hand.
