Hemeroscopium House by Ensamble Studio (15)One of the most incredible homes we have ever encountered, the Hemeroscopium House is truly unique in every way. The project was completed just a few short years ago in 2008, but continues to blow away both design fans and architects alike.

The project was designed by Ensamble Studio and resides in Madrid. The home is just over 4,300 square feet and revolves around heavy infrastructural pieces of concrete and steel, with floor to ceiling windows surrounding the property. The engineering process for the home took over an entire year, but the team had it built in just one week.

“Hemeroscopium house traps, a domestic space, and a distant horizon. And it does so playing a game with structures placed in inapparently unstable balance, that enclose the living spaces allowing the vision to escape. Heavy structures and big actions are disposed in a way to provoke gravity to move the space. And this way the place is defined.”
