As sustainable construction and building practices become more popular, we are encountering more creativity than we ever thought possible within the design industry. This beautiful recycled wind turbine playground is the latest example.
Located in Rotterdam, Netherlands, this Wikado Playground at a grade school provides a place of entertainment for children in the local area. Designed by 2012Architecten, this entire outdoor playground was constructed using five old wind turbine blades. The blades were cut up, reassembled and welded to ensure the play area was not only fun, but safe for the young children. There is plenty of fun tunnels and slides for children to play in, and there is even a rest area with benches for the parents.
