Cozy Loosdrecht Island House by 2by4-architects

Comfortably nestled on Loosdrecht Lake in the Netherlands, the Loosdrecht Island house may be simple, but it is definitely functional as well.

The little waterfront home was built as to not interrupt the flow of nature which is why 2by4-architects built two large transparent, glass walls extending from the floor to the ceiling on both sides of the dwelling. It can get quite cold on the lake which is why the architects built a beautiful fireplace that hangs down from the roof. To help make the residence more accessible and open to the natural elements the corner of the home nearest the fireplace can be completely opened up making residents feel at one with the surrounding environment. The bathroom and storage areas have been completely hidden to further enhance the natural feeling and vibe of the home.
