Triple V Gallery For Vanke by Ministry of Design in China

China’s economy is booming, and it’s safe to say that having a uniquely pleasing visitor’s center and gallery is a great addition to anyone new to the area of Tianjin, China. Ministry of Design was the firm to design this “Triple V” center for the country’s biggest developer, Vanke.

The Triple V is a triangular shaped building that plays off of nature’s organic roots with it’s completely juxtaposed angles out in the middle of an empty space.

Much like the sides on a triangle, the program for the building required three separations of space– one for a visitor’s center, a show gallery and a discussion lounge. The views are vast and beautiful, and each separate entrance boasts plenty of circulation space for the areas to operate independently.

Tectonically, the building responds to the coastal setting and is finished in weather-sensitive corten steel panels on its exterior and timber strips on the interior walls and ceiling for a more natural feel.
