Nestled up on the rooftops in the Weiden District of Vienna, Austria is a townhome that looks as if it doesn’t belong– almost like an alien intruder. Architect couple Elke Meissl and Roman Delugan built their custom home with the intent to present dynamic architecture in the midst of an eclectic mix of buildings.
The family dubs their kitchen area the “culinary cockpit” where plenty of the linear and angular elements are carried over from the three outside terraces and the interior structural elements to create a spaceship style home that is fit for any tech geek, Star Wars fan or contemporary design lover alike.
There are plenty of illusions going on in this space, with floor to ceiling glass, sloped wooden floors, hidden built ins and various planes of continuous space. The futuristic bathroom looks like you’re traveling at light speed, and one of the outdoor terraces even boasts a small pool!
