Two of the design world’s most famous and inspiring people just so happened to be married. Charles and Ray Eames have been on the forefront of designs multiple facets. They’ve been noted for their timeless designs with Herman Miller– the innovations in molded plywood furniture, and sling chairs that are used in all sorts of airports around the world today.
With the combination of their trades, the two have accomplished so much more than just furniture design. Art installations, buildings, and many other creative works abound– Charles and Ray Eames are perhaps two of the most iconic names in modern American history.
This “American Masters” documentary aired on PBS weeks ago, but can now be seen below. It focuses on their lives, and you’ll get plenty more insight to who they both were as people beyond their crafts. Prepare to be inspired.
